About me
Playing experience
I have been actively playing chess since 2012, during which I gained great competitive experience. My peak live rating is 2269, and I hold the title of National Master (NM). I enjoy sharing the knowledge I've gained through years of study and analysis, and I strive to help each student build strong fundamentals and develop their own recognizable playing style.
Teaching experience
For the past two years, I have been actively working as a coach for youth players in my chess club in Croatia, leading group training sessions and helping young talents develop their chess skills. In addition to coaching cadets, I also provide individual lessons, both online and in person, tailoring my approach to the specific needs and goals of each student.
Best skills
My greatest strengths as a player are my patience and my deep understanding of chess structures. These qualities allow me to consistently build solid positions, recognize long-term ideas, and find plans that lead to stable and reliable play. This also means that no matter which openings you prefer, I will always be able to provide you with practical and general advice based on the resulting pawn structures.
Teaching methodology
Usually our first lesson will be game analysis so we can see your strengths and weaknesses together. I will also give you practical tips to solve as many problems as I see right off the bat (at the end of that first lesson).
My primary goals are to study the games of my student and to identify his/her mistakes and weaknesses in earlier games. Thenafter, I jointly make a teaching plan together with each of my students with the aim to correct these weaknesses.
