My Anti Journey

I didn’t know about lichess before COVID at all, let alone antichess. In COVID times due to online chess tournaments, I was introduced to lichess.org. I did not know at that time that I would become so addicted to it.
One of my school friends introduced me to a team called addicted to chess. https://lichess.org/team/addicted-to-chess and this started my antichess journey.

Here I met a guy named Aloke Chettri ( current acc- @sorry_iwillbeatyou ), who encouraged me to try antichess. I played it once and became fascinated with it. I admired so many greats at that time like @om11 , @Kex09 , @cokenfortnite , @pepsingaming , @theunknownguyreborn and many more. Om11 was a friend to me and actually helped me a lot through my journey.

Sarang ( @cflour ) recommended me a move and that started my climb up. I actually used to play c3 in the beginning and had become used to it. But c3 did not work very well. One day I told Sarang about my problems with c3 and he told me that c3 was really easy to beat and to try c4 . He said that it would confuse my opponents and to try my c3 lines but with c4. Oh boy was he right. C4 was as explosive as the explosive c4. C4 was the only reason I have reached this high.

I still can't believe I have reached 2500 and rank 1 in anti. I have had great tournaments too like https://lichess.org/tournament/5cPFBLM0 . Through this journey I met five new friends who helped me a lot too, @abbysunterra , @sudenurk2 , @sam_125 , @piyush_sonkar and @Fins-love . These five along with Sarang have been my constant support. It was by this help only that I could reach the ASGM title too. Most of the antichess community believes that I am a flagger and whatnot. They may be right. But a wise man once said , “ Flagging is a skill too.” I might be a flagger but I try to get better in slower tcs too.

Let’s take this game as an example-

Here 29th move by black is Qd2. This shows my understanding of the game and I realize that the king can make many waiting moves and the only way to win fast is to get rid of the king and the pawn promo will be losing. The following moves are based around this concept.

I have won two monthly arenas and two weekly arenas. Both of which are 3+0. I have also come 2nd twice in shield arenas in two attempts which is 3+2. On the third attempt I won the shield arena https://lichess.org/tournament/rd20Uqyp too. I also hold the weekly antichess record at 264. I hold the record of the most number of points scored in a 1+0 hourly https://lichess.org/tournament/ZLftYvHJ . I can also proudly say that all the lines I play are original and I made them up (people could be using the same but I did not copy them). I have never used stock fish for searching new lines .
